Are WHA’s schemes too good to be true?
WHA is a not-for-profit association which exists solely to help its members meet the costs of everyday health care. There are no shareholders and we operate with low overheads.

What are the catches?
There are no hidden conditions designed to catch you out. The full conditions are written in plain language.

Will my payments increase as I get older?
No, your payments are not linked to your age and once you are a member, you can continue your membership without any age restriction. But as the cost of treatment increases over time, it's always a good idea to check that your plan still provides you with the level of cover you need.

Will I have to pay more if I make a lot of claims?
No, you can make as many claims as you like and your payments will remain the same. If you find that you are making a lot of claims however, it may be a good idea to increase the level of benefits in your plan to make sure you have enough cover.

Do I have to go to a practitioner approved by WHA?
No, you are free to choose any practitioner who meets the requirements stated in the Benefit & General Conditions

Am I covered for treatment for an illness I already have?
Unfortunately, we are unable to pay benefit for any medical condition which exists before the date on which you enrol as a member of WHA. Similarly, if you are a member and you require higher benefit cover, we are unable to pay benefit at a higher rate for a medical condition which you already have. These exclusions do not apply to optical and dental benefits.
